This notable award is given to the “individual who exemplifies compassion, wisdom, and tirelessness. They serve those who most need an ally during the most painful of times. This award honors and encourages the qualities of an advocate by recognizing outstanding life achievement on behalf of victims of interpersonal violence.”

The Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT) works on the elimination of all interpersonal violence across the age-span with thousands of colleagues across the U.S. and the world. The National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence Across the Lifespan (NPEIV) is a nonpartisan group of individuals, organizations, agencies, coalitions and groups that embrace a national, multi-disciplinary and multicultural commitment to the prevention of all forms of interpersonal violence. NPEIV believes it is a basic human right to be safe at home, safe at school, safe in the community, and safe when interacting with the institutions of our society. It is NPEIV’s mission to work towards eliminating all forms of interpersonal violence, for all people, in all communities, at all stages of life.

Stop the Silence® focuses on Awareness, Prevention, and Healing regarding CSA and now, as well, other Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) through a host of creative and impactful programming that are carried out locally, nationally, and internationally. The organization necessarily also focuses on other aspects of interpersonal violence like gender-based violence (GBV) and trafficking. Pam has been designing, developing, managing, implementing, and providing technical assistance to a wide range of health programming (e.g., training; community outreach and education; community mobilization; media outreach, advocacy; social marketing; policy development) focused on enhancing the lives of the poor and otherwise underserved groups for over 30 years. Pam is considered an expert in CSA prevention and mitigation including the at-risk nature of orphans and vulnerable children or OVC, and sex trafficking).
